What the fork was I thinking? There is no need for me to do this challenge. I admit I do use a swear word sometimes, but not enough for the challenge.

I try not to swear in public

I do use certain swear words, but only around my husband to make a point, if needed.
And well, when we are getting along like now, there is no need to swear.

Otherwise, if I do swear occasionally at people in traffic and they can't hear me.
Healthwise

Swearing can lower your blood pressure, while at the same time if used correctly raising the blood pressure of those around you. So if need be maybe I should?

Keele University in the UK showed in a couple of small studies:

… swearing could help people withstand physical pain and cope with emotional and frustrating experiences. Swearing appears to trigger a fight-or-flight response that results in a release of endorphins to limit pain and induce calm.

Here is where I read this.

Advise for people that swear all the time.

Don’t use certain swear words if you want to be taken seriously when you do swear.
Swear words are stronger when not used often. People that swear all the time are not taken as seriously, as someone we never hear swear, suddenly blurting out a colorful four-letter word. With the later, we rush over to see what’s happening.

True story about swearing

Here is the retro story I spoke of in comments on @worldclassplayer 's post, about starting his challenge on swearing, which led me to join the challenge. I am not sure people will understand this story without swearing so I will use a fill-in-the-blank.

Back in the 1980’s there was a saying,

“Don’t cuss call Gus, he will cuss, for both of us.”
Years later after learning this saying, I get on a hospital elevator and look over.

Standing next to me is a long-haired guy with the name Gus stitched on his workshirt.
I look over at Gus and ask, “Is it true? Don’t cuss, call Gus, he will cuss, for both of us.”

He responds, “F___ing “A”.

Was he that guy? I have no way to know.

BTW

These are my views and experience in life only; not to be confused with your own.
Be sure and check out @worldclassplayer He had some kind of effect on me.

This is the link to the post I saw and decided to take the challenge.

If you decide to take the challenge let me know. I don't think I swear enough to do it.

LOL, this is something I need to do... The Dood's got a potty mouth lately. Funny too, because I never used to swear. Politics & the news did it to me! I can't watch the damn TV without swearing at it. LOL. Anyway great post, I had no idea about swearing lowering your blood pressure, but I'm a firm believer in venting. You have to watch out for those folks who bottle it all up!

@the-bitcoin-dood Hey let me know when you start... the guy @worldclass player is doing well.

Sometimes people swear to convince others. I think that without swearing if the person is an honest person, I am sure people will believe it. so no need to swear

Swearing is a weird one for a challenge. Remember those swear boxes? Don't see them these days.

I think people on tv should be a bit more circumspect in their language use. Kids might be watching and think it's acceptable which it isn't for many people.

I don't have television; listening to people it seems everything is acceptable swearing wise.
Now you do have to be politically correct in the words you use in other areas or fur will fly.
I think people have lost their sensibilities as to what words are acceptable.

For me swearing is not considered a good habit in life.. but sometimes we need to swear to make others believe about truth..
So swear only at the time where it is required to convience others but not every time because it can make your to fall down infront of others..

Good luck with this. It's good to be aware of your own habits. I think a lot of people swear without really thinking about it and it can give a bad impression. As my mum might have said 'it's not big and it's not clever'.

@steevc there is no good luck needed, here is the opening statement

I will change the title .. in case someone only sees that
