Will the Real Satoshi Nakamoto Please Stand Up?

The paper by Satoshi Nakamoto that changed history, seemingly forever, was published in 2008. Wikipedia keeps a list of the most important papers in cryptography and Nakamoto's paper is sure to be on the list.

After publication Nakamoto spent a number of years, until 2011, in forums, posting and emailing in an effort to promote the idea of bitcoin, blockchain and smart contracts.

I wrote an article "Satoshi Nakamoto, BITCOIN & the Depoliticization of Money" about [Satoshi Nakamoto](http://www.industrytap.com/satoshi-nakamoto-bitcoin-depoliticization-money/18638) and based on a hunch believed he had been found in the form of a Japanese man living in the US.

But a team of forensic linguists from Ashton University, using scientific techniques, believe the creator of bitcoin is Nick Szabo. The way we write is much like our fingerprint, in large enough volumes, our identity sticks out like a sore thumb, through the structure of the sentences we write, the language reuse, tone, etc. It is also ready difficult for any person to hide his or her writing style even if they put a lot of effort into it.

Who is Nick Szabo?

Nick Szabo, a native of St. Louis, is trained as a cryptographer and a digital money expert. His blog is called "Unenumerated." On the site Szabo is described by Adam Shostack, writing on his site Emergent Chaos as "a premier thinker about history, law and economics, and the lessons they have for security." Shostack's new website. Szabo and Shostack certainly appeared to be the type of nerdy genius who could have pulled this off. Again, this is a hunch.

Another hint that Szabo is Satoshi Nakamoto is his creation of "smart contracts."
