Wonderful Nias
Speaking of South Nias or Nias in general, all will be on the beautiful natural attractions and interesting cultural stage. This refers to two tours that became the prima donna there that Sorake beach as a natural tour and Bawomataluo as cultural tourism. Both tours are so famous to foreign countries.
Sorake Beach is famous for its high waves up to two meters. This beach attracts many foreign tourists to surf. Access to the beach Sorake there are at least three, namely two by using the sea and one by using the air path.
The first access is to use the sea route via Sibolga Port. Tourists can depart in the morning or night and stop at the port of Gunung Sitoli Wind with ticket price range Rp80.000,00-Rp 200.000,00. Arriving at the Port of Wind, you must menjutkan road trip to South Nias Regency. In the Port of Wind will be many freight services that will offer you a trip. Here it takes your skill in bargain price, the smarter you bid will be cheaper. Travel from Harbor to Teluk Dalam (the capital of South Nias Regency) about 2-3 hours.

The always-anticipated treat in the village of Bawomataluo is a treat for the greatness of a great village with a long history. This is not apart from the existence of Omozebua and Stone Jump tradition (hombo Batu) that is there. At least this is the power to attract Bawomataluo to the world famous.
The existence of Sorake and Bawomataluo beaches is a form of beauty and civilization of South Nias high. It certainly becomes an undisputed asset of nias as a great heritage. This needs better development of tourism to make Nias Selatan a better tourist destination.
Other Face of South Nias.
The story above is about a bit of beauty and how amazing Nias Selatan is as a city so famous to foreign countries. But in this session I would like to invite to see different South Nias. Something closer to the life of the people of South Nias and living more than mere admiration.
1.Respect for guests
Until now, Nias, especially South Nias, are still shackled to two different sides. On the one hand South Nias presents beautiful nature and exotic culture, but on the other hand gives an idea of their ferocity. A stigma that will initially be received unanimously about the Nias people As a rude person, as a bar-person and has a rotten heart with envy envy. At least it will hang in the minds of everyone who will go there.
Is it true that the people of South Nias like the stigma depiction that has been prominent ?. At least this needs to be proven more comprehensively with comprehensive observations. But I have an experience that may open a little horizon about the reality of South Nias people.
I work as a field researcher in a private research institute related to the tsunami earthquake in Aceh and Nias. At that time I was stationed in Nias Selatan. Habit in every research I have to mingle with society. And this is what I have made to be friendly to the people of Nias. Village-to my remote village with my team in South Nias. And we had to stay in the homes of the people there just to wake up from the rain and the cold of the night.

Times range from November 2014-to January 2015. The first time I set foot on Nias Island and immediately drove to South Nias. What I face in my mind is the discourse to eat carefully. Nias people like to play poison. I even thought I would die this place. Ah really heartbreaking at the time.
The sharp stigma about the South Nias people I did not find, there was an interesting thing for me that really denied all the stigma I received. This is about respecting the Nias people to the guests. For Nias guests guests are kings who must be respected and given the best places. Like food, guests should get the best food that can be served in the house. Visit the homes of Nias people at least you will be cut into pigs or chickens to honor you.
Nias people's respect for guests is not only seen from the way they serve the best food. The NIas should also make sure his guests are completely satisfied and feel the pleasure of the treat. This is indicative of the way they never eat one table with the guests. At first I feel rishi with this, how not, I eat with greed while the host does not eat together. Only when the guests finished eating, the host ate the leftover food that was not eaten by the guests.
The way the Nias people respect the guests by serving the best food and not eating before the guests are full is a form of Nias hospitality. At least this is what I experienced for three months there. This condition makes me see that Nias people are good people and destroy bad stigma about them in my mind.
2.Bawomataluo at Night
Previously it was little discussed that the village of Bawomataluo is a tourist village depicting a large village with a survival stone jumping culture and the existence of omozebua. The existence of Bawomataluo as a tourist village certainly no doubt. But this village has a different face at night. A face without a mask that shows the real face.

During the day Bawomataluo is a tourist village that always invites admiration, but at night Bawomataluo village is no more the same as other villages in South Nias. Older people chatted with each other, drank tuonifare (tuak typical Nias) or chanting spiritual chants that sounded corner of the village. Young people who sing with guitars and others just watch around while sitting in their homes.
Another face of Bawomataluo at night shows that the cultural tourism of this village is a commodity. And this commodity will be served and packed so that outsiders will enjoy the dish. And at night the unpretentious face will be seen more honestly without being covered up.
