The Qur'an is the inheritance passed on by the Messenger of Allah. to all his people to be a guide so as not to get lost in navigating the life of this world. The Qur'an is the most precious treasure for a Muslim, for he is a direct dish of Allah swt. which can meet all the needs and thirst of the soul.
In a Hadith which is sourced from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Surely this Qur'an is a dish from Allah, so study it (in another narration: so take it, so accept) this dish of God as you can. He is the ropes of God, the light of day, the beneficial medicine, the protector of the one who holds fast to him, the salvation of those who follow him. It does not bend so it needs to be straightened out. It does not deviate so it needs to be justified. The magic never faded. It's never outdated though it's always repetitive. Then read it, for Allah will reward you by reading it, every letter will be rewarded with ten goodness. I did not say alif lam mim is one letter, but alif, lam and mim. (Sunan ad-Darimi, Mustadrak al-Hakim) Through the above hadith, the Messenger of Allah. invites to his people, all of us, to always read, study, love, practice and make the Qur'an as the main guideline in life in this world.
Exclamation Rasulullah saw. has been enthusiastically welcomed by companions, tabiins, and salafus salih. They were fascinated by the Qur'an, and their souls were made drunk by him. They are always istiqamah in reading the Qur'an. If a day does not read the Qur'an, they feel deep regret, as if they have lost something that is priceless.
One day, one friend burst into tears. Other friends ask to cheer, "What makes you cry? Are you sick? "He replied," More than that. "They ask again," Are you losing property? "He replied," More than that. "They asked back," Is there a family that died? "He replied," More than that. "They asked again," What is it? "He replied," Yesterday I fell asleep and did not get to read my wirid (Qur'an), surely it was because of the sin I committed. "
Masha Allah! The companion felt very sorry to miss having not read the Qur'an for a day. So also Abdullah bin 'Umar who with clarity of his heart asked the Messenger of Allah. about how long he can read the Qur'an. "O Messenger of Allah! How long do I have to recite the Qur'an? "The Prophet replied," Khatamkan in a month. "I said," O Messenger of God, I am still able. "He replied," Khatamkan in 25 days. "I said," I am still able He replied, "Khatamkan in 10 days." I said, "I am still capable." He replied, "Khatamkan in 5 days." He replied, "Khatamkan in 15 days." I said, "I still can." I said, "I am still capable." Finally he replied, "No."
Subhan Allah! Indeed so should the soul of a Muslim, his heart always longs and adheres to the Qur'an. O Allah, make our hearts and souls always miss and adhere to the Qur'an like Abdullah ibn 'Umar's heart.
Indeed such determination does not appear suddenly. There are many preliminary steps. Therefore, starting today, let us be determined to try continually to read the Qur'an. No need to start from three days, but start from what you can, start from one ruku ', then increase one hizb, one juz, and so on. But with the record must be done continuously. Remember! This religion is so deep, so enter it slowly.
In reciting the Qur'an, salafus salih has a diverse tradition. Amongst them are those who consecrated the Qur'an in a day, three days, five days, six days, seven days, and so on. One of the most famous is to recite the Qur'an in seven days by dividing the Qur'an into seven manzils (the limits of stopping and starting reading) formulated in the phrase Famī bi-syauqin, "my mouth in the longing (reading the Qur'an 'an) ".
According to the story of Ali ibn Abi Talib karramallahu wajhah, recite the Qur'an by way of Famī bi-syaqqin begins on Friday and menyhatamkannya on Thursday or Friday night. Friday is reading the first manzil starting from Surah Al-Fatihah to the end of Surah An-Nisa '(four suras). Saturday the second manzil, from Surah Al-Ma'idah to the end of Surah At-Taubah (five suras). The third Sunday of Manzil, from Surah Yunus to the end of Surah An-Nahl (seven suras). On Monday the fourth manzil, start Surah Al-Isra '/ Bani Isra'il to the end of Surah Al-Furqan (Nine Surahs). On Tuesday the fifth manzil, start Surah Asy-Syu'ara 'to the end of Surah Yasin (eleven Surah). On Wednesday the sixth manzil, start Surah As-Saffat until the end of Surah Al-Hujurat (thirteen suras). And last Thursday read manzilketujuh, start Surah Qaf to Surah An-Nas.
How amazing their tradition is in reciting the Qur'an. Subhan Allah. What a wonderful thing if their tradition is continued by the current generation of Islam. The more Muslims read and interact with the Qur'an in such a way and with such enthusiasm, the attempt to memorize it will be stronger and the effort to practice its content will be easier.
Dear Allah! I want to join my friends in interacting with your Holy Book. And starting Friday, July 23, 2010 M./11 Sya'ban 1431 H., I am determined to join myself and follow the path of your glorious lovers, to recite the Qur'an in 7 days. Dear Allah! Give me the ability to practice the salafus salihus of this glorious salihus, and make this mouth always in the longing to recite this glorious reading of the Qur'an. Amen.
The time has not yet come for the believers to recall the God and obey the revealed truth (to them), and do not be (like) those who have received the book before it, then they go through a long period so that their hearts become hard. And many of them became ungodly men. (Surah Al-Hadid / 57: 16)
