India may soon lose millions of tourists because its Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party government in the North Indian State of Uttar Pradesh has decided to remove the iconic Taj Mahal from its official list of tourist attractions in the State.

At present the Taj Mahal alone attracts three million tourists a year. And the Taj and the Hindu holy city of Benaras are the only tourist attractions in India’s most populous state.IMG_20171201_125202_493.jpg
