Talao – Disruptive Talent Marketing and management

INTRODUCTION

The independent market is a growing sector as a majority of the population that are grouped under the working class fall under this bracket. This is an embodiment of a talent-on-demand structure that has more to offer, provided the industry is handled properly. The freelance market has its worth pegged at around five billion dollars, with freelance workers contributing an astonishing $715 billion to some countries’ yearly economic earnings.

Problems Facing the Industry
Despite its budding potentials, the market is plagued with various challenges that hamper the further growth of the industry. Centralization obviously prevents the talents from retaining the rights to own their own professionalism and reputations. This is usually experienced when such workers have to deal with the online platforms which are currently in place.

Commonplace is the practice of talent falsifying their work resumes, thus deceiving businesses who’re in search of various respective talents. There is no way for businesses to verify the
authenticity of the resumes that talents put out. They are also at risk of hiring the wrong talents for their jobs.

Commission setups do not favour the talents as most platforms exploit the talents and charge exorbitantly for bringing talents to businesses. There is no arbitrary body to regulate such
commission rates and as such, these agencies and platforms ride free. At the end of the day, talents fail to gain substantial remuneration for jobs they engage in.

The Ecosystem
The Talao Ecosystem would consist of five (5) essential icons, viz:
The Talents, the Communities, the Clients, Third Parties and Competitors.

Talent
This refers to individuals with varying skill sets who wish to offer their services to businesses in search of freelance workers. Talents have the choice to select from five profile options:
Independent Talent would refer to freelance who can be contacted based on job-to-job basis. They usually do not have any permanent employer. The Slashers or Diversified talent usually have more than one employers and thus have multiple streams of incomes which
stem from the various freelance jobs they engage in. The Moolighters are the more
professional class but who still engage in occasional freelancing. The Freelance Business Owners double as freelance workers but still have employees under them. And the Active retiree are individuals who have served in the various respective industries and now desire to transfer knowledge to the younger generation.

Communities
Community would be a select group of individuals who fall under the same freelance sector and thus share a common job goal, though under different employers. There would be the Autonomous Open Communities and the Autonomous Private Communities with both being fully decentralized.

Clients
These are companies who desire and seek freelance talents for whatever job specification.

These talents usually tend to fill up drags within their system or acquire human capital to gear them for venturing into newer markets.

Third Parties
These are personnel whose job and tasks are to attract more participants onto the Talao Platform. There is yet sufficient incentives for those involved in this class.

Competitors
The main competitions of the platform are also categorised and grouped under four classes.

These classes include decentralized platforms, old and traditional centralized markets,
blockchain-based markets and blockchain-based DAO based markets.
Talents on the platforms are afforded the opportunity to gain experiential certification from participating in jobs, increase relevance in certain markets through the communities, make the commission fees fall to 0%. They can also choose to settle conflicts without involving mediators whatsoever. Fiat and cryptocurrencies are used for payments.
