Another property of tannins is hemostatic. In fact, in contact with a wound, the ability of the tannins to bind tenaciously to the local proteins favors in some way the formation of the clot and the arrest of the hemorrhage. Tannins also induce localized vasoconstriction.

Because of these properties, tannins come in the regeneration of tissues affected by small wounds and burns.
