On Saturday, I was out working showing some amazing people Budapest on a guided tour. On my way home, I got hungry and wanted to grab a slice of pizza. But, I didn't see a pizza slice that looked tempting as I visited Pizza King at the Kelenfold station in Budapest, and therefore, I decided to try the gyros instead. I bought the gyros in pita and a Pepsi Max (Pepsi Black), and the total price was 700 HUF (a bit more than 2 Euro). In other words, a very good price.
On the right of the picture, you can see the place where they grill the gyros meat before they place it into the pita bread.
Some pizza slices, they didn't look so tempting to me, so I went for the gyros instead.
To be honest, this isn't a gyros I would run around Budapest to find. Do you know why? This is what the standard gyros tastes like in Budapest. In other words, wherever you go, you will most likely find a gyros tasting exactly like this, using the same sauces and the same ingredients. But, the big difference is that it is cheaper here than at all the other locations in Budapest. As a result, this isn't such a bad option after all.
I enjoyed my food, and I had a good lunch after a nice tour in Budapest. If you come with train to Budapest, you are likely to stop at Kelenfold station, and if that is you, this might be a good place to eat before you jump on the metro, a bus, a tram, or before you find another train connection to move on.
