This little diner is locally owned and operated in a small town nearby. I go there often especially for their delicious home style hamburgers. They have a daily special that they advertise on the the outside of the building to lure in passer-bys.
They have a unique down home decor - the window covering is old country cooking aprons rather than curtains or blinds. They also have vintage album covers and old time metal signs.
Here is the simple, yet adaquate menu:
In the last page, in the middle, you see Challenges. There is both a breakfast plate, called "Gramps Challenge" and a hamburger plate called "Doorstop". If you order either of these and can finish the meal by yourself in one hour, the meal is free! And they will take your picture and put in on their Hall of Fame on the wall.
I saw a young man doing this challenge with the Doorstop, and he was not able to finish it. But others have made it!
Today in honor of this review I tried something other than my favorite hamburger. I ordered the Dagwood, which was smothered with melted cheese and topped with a couple of crispy onion rings. I chose their house made potato chips for my side order.
The sandwich was piled high with ham and served on a Hawaiian bun with sweet pickles. There is a house made dipping sauce with blue cheese
for the chips. It was a very generous portion and I had to request a take home box because I couldn't finish it.
They also have a nice selections of desserts, shown on the chalk board on the wall.
The dessert menu is surrounded by more old time album covers and metal signs.
Since I was too full to finish my lunch, I didn't order dessert after the meal. I did, however, order one of their fresh baked cinnamon rolls to take home to enjoy later. And enjoy it I did! I simply microwaved for a few seconds and it filled the house with a wonderful smell.
I come here often, I recommend it for a nice local eating establishment. The prices are slightly higher than fast food, but you get your money's worth with good quality.

Looks like just the kind of local diner that I love to discover. Looking at the specials menu on the outside, I'd like to try to taco salad. And how cute are those apron curtains!
