Man , I'm so glad you decided to join this! You were not kidding about losing track, you are way ahead of me on our yakuza journey...lol I love the Oni. I've wanted to get a samurai in a boat scene for years, but just haven't found the right look yet. Don't forget to put a link to this in the comment section of the contest post!

Thanks for the reminder about dropping the link in the contest post. I forgot all about that.

I have a long way to go and a lot of space to fill between a lot of my tattoos. My childhood memories tattoos, I want to add some Ren and Stimpy and some other cartoon characters that i used to like. I want to add some more Japanese to my right arm, finish my back and my left leg below the knee is going to be dedicated to my experiences in Africa.

Oh man! Reading this gave me goosebumps!
I see the first tattoo's and I see my childhood on your skin lol :p
I used to be that weird child that would watch Dragon Ball Z when all the other girls were on Degrassi High and Full House or whatever was playing at the time (Oh and Sailor Moon. I watched that too. Can't leave that one out. The most girly show I ever watched lol). I would spend many school nights playing Zelda... along with Sonic and Final Fantasie etc. I kept my Sega for a long time :p

As I read on, I noticed the way you wrote, childhood tattoos to later on experiences. A fine timeline. The meanings get deeper and I feel it all. Not to the extent that you do. Just letting you know that I feel you and understand.
You had hard times and getting tattoos can help heal. Reason for my backpiece.
I love that you also put pieces of your heritage on you.
You have been through so much, it's nice to fall back to your roots.

This is a great post and most personal. Thank you for letting me get to know you :) Much appreciation and respect! xx

In Japan you were weird if you didn't watch DragonBall Z or collect the cards. We would go to the stores and put our money in the machines and buy the cards one at a time and then battle other people at recess for their cards. We would flip our cards against theirs and whoever's card landed face up would take the other person's card. A lot of fights started on the playground because of that game. When I moved to America after living in Japan I was the weird kid that didn't know anything about "real TV" or American restaurants. I thought Subway, the sandwhich place, was an actual subway station that you would go to and buy sandwhiches. I was so confused when we went to an actual building.

As far as my more serious tattoos. I wanted to get stuff that told people about me. My back piece is going to be a story of my past and the hard times that I have gone through, and that is why I chose to put it on my back, because even though it is a part of me, it is behind me, but will always be there. It's kind of a hard thing for me to explain, but it makes sense in my head.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read about my tattoos and thanks for hosting the contest. It was fun telling my story.

What you said does make sense. I understand completely. Bodies have a lot of significance. The neck being balance and communication, the right side is symbolic of faith in yourself and the left side is heart, and what you are going through. Things that I have read. Tattoo placement is definitely to be considered when it needed to tell the right story.

You are most welcome and I am happy that I decided to do it. My eyes have been opened and so has my heart. This contest is bigger than I thought it would have been as the stories are deeper than I could ever imagine. <3

Wow! You have some amazing art on you. ❤
But this one is definitely my favorite. Such powerful meaning. Thank you for your service.
