I'm gonna take a risk of moving a couple of people to the wrong side tomorrow; but, I need to address an issue that major parties, and both viable candidates, fucking suck at.
(To end a sentence with a preposition)
We need to finally understand that there's a difference between who is paying taxes on paper, and who is ultimately footing the bill.
Harris is telling us that corporations are going to pay taxes. That's not true. You are going to pay the taxes. You're either going to pay the taxes as an employee with lower wages, or a customer with higher prices.
Trump is telling us that tariffs are gonna pass the cost off on foreign nationals exporting goods to the USA. That's not true. We're gonna pay for it. On paper, foreign companies are paying for it. In reality, these companies aren't altruistically footing the bill. We're paying the tax for them with higher prices.
Can we finally learn that the tax on paper is different from who actually pays it?
