How to get on a taxi in Japan
There are three ways to get in a taxi in Japan.
One is the same way anywhere in the world, if you see a taxi on the road, raise your hand and stop. If there is no customer, the small electronic bulletin board on the left side of the windshield is displayed with "Empty ".
In addition, if the sign on the roof shines at night, "empty " is represented and can be stopped.
Another option is to use the "Taxi stand" provided by the station or a large hotel. In some cases there are two taxi ranks. This means that one is a large car and the other one is a compact car.
Here is a TAXI stand.
Even if it is a compact car, because it is not a so small vehicle, you do not worry too much, so that you should arrange it in vacant one.
The last one is how to call a taxi. However, most Japan taxi companies are not able to communicate in English, so they are not suitable for use by foreign tourists. Therefore, it is recommended taxi dispatch application. The name is called "Haisha (dispatch) ".
It is available in English, Chinese and Korea languages.
