Hot tea combined with alcohol and a cigarette increases the risk of oesophageal cancer, Chinese researchers found. The conclusion and study is published in Annals of Internal Medicine.
For 9 years, medics have studied the health and eating habits of 456,000 people aged 30-76. During this time, 1731 cases of oesophageal cancer were reported among the observed.

Scientists have found that this disease is five times more common among patients who regularly use hot tea and drink at least 15 grams of alcohol a day.

At the same time, oesophageal cancer affects twice as fond of hot drinks that smoke.

The authors suggest that beverages over 65 degrees Celsia cause thermal injuries to the internal organs, which may increase the likelihood of developing cancer. They urge people to treat the hot liquids carefully, especially in case of simultaneous use of tobacco and alcohol.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has already published a report stating that alcohol use increases the likelihood of developing seven types of cancer - the colon, breast, esophagus, liver, oral cavity, throat. / BGNES, RIA-Novosti
