Ok, so maybe I'm not asking the question the way I should.....
What I really want to know is if you are up to scratch with your learners who are probably way ahead of most teachers when it comes to using technology:
The learners in the class of 2018+ are more tech savvy than any of those who have gone before. And as a teacher you can either be scared 's...less' or you can get with it and become a teacher who really makes a massive difference in the lives of your learners.
Most schools are running away from technology. Oh yes, they install these wonderful networks, state of the art computers and even appoint a teacher to provide IT lessons to the learners. Problem is that this widens the gap between teacher and learner. Our learners are quite comfortable with this new technology. Our teachers seldom are!
And getting used to working with technology is much broader than what is currently happening...
What teachers need to do is to USE technology to TEACH content. In this way they will not only show they are up to date with life today, but are actually embracing it and encouraging it. We are not going to capture learner attention unless we do this.
I will in subsequent articles give more info on this. In the mean time I welcome any inputs from Steemit members...
