A growing number of families today have been turning to homeschooling as an education solution for their kids after the school system has labeled their children as 'unteachable'.
There are thousands of children currently being home-schooled in the United States, Canada, throughout the UK, and elsewhere. And these families are helping to dissolve the stigma surrounding home-schooled children, that they cannot be properly educated or socialized. Often, they are far more educated than their peers who attend "regular school", and they're just as socialized.
What do you do when the school says your child is unteachable?...
"When your child sits on the sofa and says they'd rather be dead than go to school, you know your choice," - the mom has said.
Now that there might be a growing number of folks who are turning to homeschooling, there is also a growing effort to have those families submit to official record-keeping on the matter.
The children's commissioner for England has reportedly been pushing for compulsory registration for home-schooled children. At the moment, any family in the UK has the option to choose to educate their children at home and there is no requirement for them to submit information to the local authorities about their choice.
For the UK, it's estimated that the number of children being home-schooled has risen by at least 40 percent in 3 years.
Critics of the push for registration have argued that there isn't any evidence to suggest that keeping official records on who might be homeschooling will in any way improve education.
"...councils need the powers and appropriate funding to enter homes or other premises to check a child's schooling, and make sure they aren't being taught in unsuitable or dangerous environments," - R. Perry, chair of LGA children and young people board.
Authorities are now reportedly seeking feedback from the public on the matter, wanting to know how they feel about introducing a new registration process; whether or not they support such a motion. But if they do make the changes and opt to force families to submit to central record-keeping on the matter then it will only come as a detriment to the liberty of the people.

Surely, if a school said my children is unteachable, then i will show them they are teachable by homeschooling

@doitvoluntarily Hello dear friend. This is a logical news. educational education leaves much to be desired in schools, and it is logical that parents resort to this type of teaching, nobody wants the best for the student than their parents, many educators lack the psychological knowledge that must be available for success in school. teaching
Many thanks for sharing this news, I wish you a beautiful weekend
