When I saw this application, I had conditioned my mind to try photography again if it would be accepted as a teaching course next season. It's better late than never applying in rush hour due to some uncertainties that made me nearly forget the application. Photography is a backbone on the steemit platform.

Without photography, most of us won't be creative in terms of arts, crafts, lifestyle and creativity. Photography is essential even when seeking verification on steemit.

This tells you more about steemit as not just a blogging site but also as a content creating site. Photography of nature and lot of things yet to be mentioned makes steemit an interactive social media platform where people learn from others.

Without the pictures on steemit, I wonder how blogs would look like. Would be so boring to read through. Even books have designed picture covers to captivate interest. So I'll be applying for the role of a photography course tutor.

On steemit, I'm known as @bossj23 but physically, I'm known as Jephthah Moses. I am a full-blown Nigerian and I joined this platform 3 years back which I celebrated my anniversary last month. I've gotten lots of achievements on the platform due to my level of experience in creating quality contents originally and working impartially as a moderator.

My whole life revolves around taking pictures especially for diary games and creative writing. I wasn't intentional about this lifestyle before I joined because I didn't have a good camera which really stressed me out in giving the best. Those video content creators on other social media platforms need a good mobile camera to achieve the best of results.

I started my photography life in 2021, all thanks to steemit. Steemit made me see I have a skill that has been hidden for years and I decided to take it personal.

When we entered a new year, I decided to stop using online free pictures and use my mobile device in creating what can be created online. This was what I resolved to do this year and it's working well for me. You don't need to have a very good phone before you capture moments for use on steemit.

That's the reason I am applying to change that impression. You can still be good at photo sessions if you know how to handle your mobile camera. I will teach you how you can create moments by just knowing how to position your mobile camera as most people capture moments reluctantly.

Professional Qualifications

My professional qualifications as a mobile photographer are shown below. I've had 3 good years of experience using a mobile device to capture moments. In my third year, I decided to be open and make people see what a normal camera can do, a mobile camera can also do, even better. This is my mobile device.

I started giving people evidence to believe that they don't need to hire a photographer for their events who would charge them highly. They started giving me contracts and I'm proud to say I've covered 20 events so far, taken lots of photo sessions with individuals and the likes of them. Most steemians here know me for that though I'm yet to be a certified mobile photographer.

This professionalism is seen in different contents I create on steemit. I always value first impressions which can be made by using a catchy picture as the first picture in our contents to drive interest. These are my works. I've covered anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, funerals and a lot more. I just covered a wedding ceremony last week with my mobile device. Steemit made me develop passion into photography and I'm going length with my mobile device.

As a mobile photographer, I'll be teaching you how we can go mobile and intentional when capturing photos. They'll be a month free challenge with a huge prize for those who'll be able to create contents without using online pictures. This would be organised before the year runs out, eligible to only those that apply. This will help you see the need for creativity in contents.

Three examples of the weekly lessons they would include in their course.

I'm not applying to teach how to become a professional photographer in real life but to teach you the basics of photography. You can't be a professional if your interest is not there. So that's what I want to establish. For this to be enhanced, I would take these three important lessons if selected.

  • Week 1: Introduction to photography and Importance Of Photography on Steemit:

Now, this lesson was selected to drive interest among learners. They should know why photography is important on steemit as they are content creators on the platform. If you don't know the importance of what you're doing, it's absolutely a no because you won't be intentional about it. So this lesson will touch aspects like;

  • Why should you be intentional about taking photos on Steemit?

  • Reasons for taking photos with your mobile device and why this adds to your being creative

  • Challenges faced when taking photos with your mobile device etc.

These are interest driven questions that would help all content creators on steemit know the reason they take pictures for their contents, why they should be intentional when taking these pictures and not just doing it reluctantly because of the reward.

After placing emphasis on this for week 1, we'll go into a major lesson which has to do with photography proper.

  • Week 2: Understanding Your mobile camera.

Most people here only take pictures by pressing the shutter. They don't want to know if they can set it to enhance pictures or improve the quality and positioning. You need to understand how your mobile camera works as all mobile cameras have similar but different settings.

Understanding your camera in terms of focal length, brightness, focus, shutter speed etc. This will help you when taking pictures even with the least of phones. Emphasis would be made on;

  • how to set your mobile camera in a way that produces quality images in low and bright light.
  • How to capture moving objects without the pictures appearing blur
  • How to set focus on stationary objects etc.

When you know how to set your camera in a way that delivers, you would know how to apply it to good use. Now, to lesson 3, we go into application as this is the major thing in photographing.

  • Week 3: Positioning and Application

After learning how to set your mobile camera in a way that enhances pictures you capture, positioning it is another major aspect you must work on. Many people take their devices above their heads to take pictures or below their knees. Understanding positioning of your mobile camera will go a long way into helping you place pictures in their right position.

You don't need to be a professional before you know how to position your phone. Application has to do with practical works where users would be told to

  • capture a motion human picture and a picture of a moving object, still maintaining focus and clarity

  • capture pictures of nature and distant objects without making them look blur or distant

  • snap a picture based on a particular creativity or subject in question. E.g There's a topic on Charity or Poverty Alleviation. Capture a creative and original photo to show this.

There's always discretion in photos and its use. This is what content entails. Not all original or creative pictures are attractive to readers. If selected, usage and choice of mobile creativity would be taught.

In conclusion, we all need to know how to take quality photos for use in our blogs anytime we make contents. You can't be a content creator, producing quality contents when you don't know what device to use in creating these contents, how to use the device and how to edit videos for use on your blog. Same with Steemit. It's essential you know how to capture photos with your mobile device since it may not necessarily involve the use of a Camera.

With these details and lessons for the weeks, I hope I would be found worthy in terms of our application. It would be an honour to teach photography not as a hobby but as a profession. This journey has taught me consistency and I won't give up in my application unless a team if not me, handling photography is selected.

Cuando entré en Steemit hace 7 años atrás realicé un mini curso de fotografía, aquí en Steemit. El taller se llamaba "fotografrito". Y pude aprender puntos valioso.

Me gusta tu propuesta.

Nos vemos en la temporada 22.

Éxitos 👍😻

Thank you so much for believing I'll be part of the trail. I really appreciate. Good to know you learnt photography course from steemit. I also learnt crypto from steemit.....

This course will be helpful to many of us. We need to make proper use of our cameras to capture memorable pictures. I wish you luck.
