Are you a cool brand

This morning, I read a chapter from Robin Sharma book " Greatness guide 2" about being a cool brand. In that chapter he highlighted , we are a brand and whenever someone think of us, what association would it conjure up in their mind.

What we post in our facebook, in our steemit post or even through personal contact we influence the person in forming the perception of who we are or what we stand for. I find it very disturbing when people who like to air their grievances, post their whining and complain in social media. It actually give the impression that they are powerless to change or love to blame everything in their life on external forces.

Firstly in building your personal brand, you got to discover what you want others to remember you as. For celebrities and high profile individual, they have brand consultant to manage their public relation and also to implement action plan to create the brand association they identified.

However we still can take charge of our personal brand building effort. The world is looking for authenticity and realism when dealing with you. We don't have to fake it because people can see right through us and learn of of our hidden agenda sooner or later. But there is a clear line between being authentic and obnoxious. Being yourself does not mean you can simply voice your feelings without considering the affect on others. People are still attracted to quality such as kindness and passion.

Recently, I sign up for a program about fitness and eating right. Watching this person vedio he seems to be genuine and he shared about his journey and later made an enticing offer to sign up for his program. So, I decided to sign up but only to find myself being bombarded with so many other packages and offer. I was of course, felt used and so I cancel the subscription. The whole experience taught me that, some people are just about monetising at the pretence of genuinely helping you.

I also notice one way to build your personal brand is to give something of value. It could be tips for running a successful fitnese center , how to guide or list of valuable information. Gary Vaynerchuk is very good in building his personal brand through his 1000 episodes on wine library. He is raw, unfiltered but honest in his approach to enjoying wine.

Simply put, find out your passion and build on it. Thats one great way to associate your own personal brand. In steemit plateform, it is. a great opportunity to build your personal brand. So the next you want to post, consider the following questions.

1.) What is my post saying about me?

2.) Is my post reflecting my passion or is it just a rambling thought?

3.) Does my post add value to my readers and if yes, how is it doing so?
