Marketing #001 what I learn from Hello Kitty

Sitting on my couch, is my daughter's pillow with Hello Kitty cat on it. Its really remarkable that this symbol "Hello Kitty" is 44 years old. The creator of this unique cat is Yuko Shimuzi in 1974. The brand is owned by a Japanese company Sanrio Co Ltd which designs, licences and produces stationaries, school supplies and etc. Today Hello Kitty brand is worth US7billion a year.

How can a simple cartoon character generate a staggering US759 million revenue in sales per year.

I am intrested in the development of Hello Kitty into a global brand. How can we imitate and learn from this to build our own personal brand.

One thing I do know, is that todays businesses need to focus on building community in order to strive. It is much bigger than building loyal followers because followers can change if another great thing come along .

People in community has longer staying power due to a common interest and that is why in order to grow bigger, build more and bigger communities. In community, there are more engagement , more support from each other towards the shared goal.

How does this apply to steemit? Focus on building followers through your unique blog content. After that build community through engagement and continuos support for one another. I have seen blogger with 10K followers have strong earning from just one post. And I have seen strong and rapid growth in followers because of continuos effort in building communities.

I always believe, the symbol Hello Kitty represents cuteness, joy and happiness. What is your personal brand going to represent?

Do not discount the power of steemit to build a strong personal brand and also streams of income. It will happen and it is already happening for some. Happy Steeming

Building the business community on steemit is something I have been clamouring for every time. When you build community, you network seems to be endless.
