As a young kid I never liked drinking tea. I was never trained to drink them at all even when i was as home. Always has been chocolate milk or the ever famous Milo. I drink water alot and still do, but a go to drink has always been Milo, or else, lemon ice when I go to a shop.
My addiction started when I was in India doing my studies in Audio Engineering, and the demand for having these chocolate milks in shops were very low to none. You either had to visit a top notch restaurant or go to a hotel to get one. The only drinks they served in those road side stalls were tea or coffee.
It was difficult in the beginning, for the first time going to such stalls and asking for a chocolate milk, some might have it, if it was near a school, you'd be able to get horlicks and such, but to those shop that didn't, definitely a weird look and stare and the next line that will question your reason for standing there 'athu yellam vikuruthe illai pa'which literally translate 'we don't sell those here' and they will guide me to look for them at a hotel.
So you did the next best thing... Learn to adapt. But little did I know what began as a no choice have to drink it quickly became something I needed on a daily basis, and what was worst, I drank that alot when I had exams and assignments.
Now it's really become an addiction and I need my tea everyday. Sometimes I find excuses to meet up my buddies at 'mamak' shops just to have my cup of tea.
