Bullying - "stop it"

Tonight we had our weekly "Family home Evening" where we make sure there are no other activities, and we have a formal get together as a whole family, discuss the plans for the week, have some lesson (from dancing, fun activities to more serious discussions about life, God and responsibilities) and some eats.

My daughter had been talking to my youngest son in a way that we disapproved of....in fact the truth of the matter is that she was bullying her brother because she's bigger, stronger, wiser and older.
We needed to address this in a way that would positively get them to see that it is something that they need to stop, but also give them the tools of dealing with this, because the world is filled to the brim with bullies in the workplace, home, social media and public in general.

So we decided to watch and discuss the below 2 videos. What wonderful messages they hold, and wonderful lessons for youth and adults alike.

We had a wonderful discussion. The children were very interested and had really good input into the discussion.

I would suggest that all children and adults alike watch these videos.

I hope you enjoy.

I have to be careful not to be a verbal bully. Luckily my wife keeps me in check. I am not too successful.

I did this because of me losing my temper with Austyn while helping with his maths homework. I got so worked up at him that I felt terrible afterwards at how I was bullying him. We did this for Fhe after my serious apologies and repentance. He was so nonchalant about it
