The technology of Huawei and ZTE will be largely banned from use by the US government. The draft ban was signed by President Trump on the 14th of this month part of Defense Authorization Act. This decision came from Republicans who see these companies as a threat to national security. In July, the Senate passed an amendment that could re-ban trade on ZTE. Which is likely to push the company to close, but this has not happened so far and the company is still going on.
In the end, the US Congress has decided to fundamentally block the US government or anyone who wants to work with the US government from using any elements or equipment from Huawei, ZTE and even from other Chinese telecommunications companies. The ban will Implementation over the next two years.
