On the plus side, it's a nice size and fits my hand just right. I have two computers which share a single monitor, keyboard and mouse via an IOgear KVM switch. I was told you couldn't use a wireless mouse with a KVM switch, but guess what. You plug the little wireless doodad into the port in the KVM switch where you would plug in the mouse cable, and it works just fine. This is the first wireless mouse I've had, and I like being cord free. On the negative side, I got this mouse on June 3 of this year, and yesterday November 21, the scroll wheel went out on it, so it hasn't held up very well. I have also had intermittent trouble with the left mouse button. I used that canned air stuff that you use to clean a keyboard, and that helped. I will say, though, that I am on the computer quite a lot and I use the mouse a lot to play games and to operate my feed reader program. Still, I would expect a longer life span than 6 months.

I love this mouse! I got it to go with my laptop, but I almost want to carry it with me and use it any time I'm using one of the three or four other PC's in my life.I like a mouse that has a light click feel. Most better Logitech mice have a good feel and this one matches those. My previous favorite mouse was that old Microsoft white mouse that had the large back-end. . .can't think of the name of it, but it was a ball mouse. The 3000 matches the original Microsoft mouse plus being an optical mouse puts the icing on the cake. The scroll wheel of the 3000 is good, but I've used mice that had a better feel. The size is just right. Compact enough to take along but big enough to use for extended periods.I also like the fact that the USB dongle/plug/transmitter stores in the bottom of the mouse AND when you snap it in the storage slot it cuts off the power so the battery is not continuously drained. Very thoughtful.Need a notebook mouse? Look no furtherEdit: As of August 2009, I don't use this mouse any more. A couple of months ago my Dell Laptop (Inspiron 9400) blue-screened a couple of times and it had never done that before. After a bit of research on the error message, it seems that some USB devices cause a conflict. I didn't go further with the research, but I do know that my laptop never blue screens unless I'm using this mouse. I wish I knew how to correct the problem, because other than that I still like this mouse and miss using it.

This is a good notebook mouse: Attractive, ergonomically good, responsive, and easy to install. The only issue, as others have noted, is that its range is SHORT. For me, any more than 2 unobstructed feet and the thing doesn't work. For those that always use it with their notebook in typical ways, I guess this is no problem as the usb dongle will always be right there. For me, I often connect the lappy to an external monitor and keyboard, and the usb port is a little far away at times. A little rearranging and I'll muster through but I wish I had a few more feet to work with. My old, now broken wireless rollerball mouse could manage 15 feet at least. Oh well. As I said, for typical use this mouse does the job well.Oh. Some users have complained about jerkiness and unresponsiveness. I suspect this is due to range issues.Update: I noticed that the link between mouse and usb dongle varies greatly depending on what angle the usb dongle presents to the mouse. The dongle has a longer straight side, then a curved end which tapers a little down to the other straight edge. This shorter edge is the one you'd want facing the mouse if you're having range and responsiveness issues. It's also possible to buy a usb extender of just a few inches or several feet if your setup needs it.update April 2013. The left mouse button has worn out.

Really comfortable especially since I have carpel tunnel. Highly recommend!

I love this keyboard. This is the second one that I bought for work. I love the ergonomic design, it's just enough and not too curvy. The keys have a soft touch and it's light so it's easy to carry around from different workstations.

This is my second one. I wore the keys labels off the other one. Great keyboard, long battery life, good features, if just the letters would stay on the keys longer. Lost the A,S,D,E,C labels.

Do I love the feel of the keyboard and mouse? Absolutely. Since I purchased one several years ago, I've supplied my whole office with them (and use them at home). The keyboard feel is superior to most products and the footprint doesn't take up the entire desk (like a Microsoft 4000). The ergonomics work. It is between a high "wave" and a nearly flat/or inverted wave. It just feels good. The total number purchased = 10. Total number failed = 7.Why 3 stars if it has become ubiquitous at my office and home? They keep failing!!! I'm not sure why but every 12-15 months the keyboard fails. Sometimes certain keys fail. Other times it stops communicating. The mouse and keypad never breakdown, just the keyboard. Microsoft has a warranty but because we are a law firm, the keyboard is critical. I've tried switching out keyboards but the office complains with different units. Microsoft warranty support is hit/miss. Some folks are straightforward and swap (but I have to buy a new one immediately because the keyboard is mission critical and hence why everyone now has one).If you get one, be forewarned. You will like the feel and use. The mouse is very comfortable. The keyboard will fail within the 3 year warranty period. It's that simple. We keep e-wasting the broken ones and I cannot convince anyone to swap to a different model because of the superior feel.

I had problems setting up the keyboard. I dug through the useless manual trying to understand why the keyboard and mouse didn’t connect to Bluetooth. I was ready to send the whole thing back when I discovered the instructions where on the underside of the box top!Anyway, I got it working soon after. The combo has great reduced my shoulder and elbow strain, by about 90%.I’ve only had it for two weeks, so I can’t speak to durability, which is why I gave it four stars in that regard.

I received this in August and have been using it daily. The USB Dongle is now damaged. I don’t remember causing this but cannot be sure I didn’t. I contacted Microsoft and they say physical damage is not covered by warranty. They will not replace the Dongle as it is a set and they will not replace the set. This was a waste of money and now a bunch is plastic is going into the trash. I cannot understand why they don’t make replacement Dongles that can be programmed to a set by serial number. After the fact I read many reviews stating exactly this. I will never buy hard goods from Microsoft based on their customer service and disregard for the environment.
