In the internet world, there is one app called TRUECALLER. Which provides us NAME'S of Unknown Numbers. But wait, if you use this app it take's you call history, call recording, chat/messages, number of your contacts, name of your contacts and much more data which you cannot think about that.
How Truecaller works?
It is very simple, a mobile app when someone installs this app it takes the data from their mobile and syncs it to truecaller server. It takes contact of all users and they use its machine learning, artificial intelligence to know that the real complete name of the particular contact. Suppose a person name is ALEX HALES which is your friend and you save your friend number with the name of (ALEX Bestie) but the number of Alex save on any other person's device with its original name Alex Hales, so they check common thing in every mobile and after all confirmation, they provide you the name of an unknown number.
In the end, they take all the data from us and provide the data when we want but this app does nothing for users. They harm our privacy and leak our data. If we take a look on their website privacy policy then there clearly visible that they took us all detail like Personal information, geographical location, Ip address, device id, device manufacturer, device type, hardware setting, sim usage, application installed on phone, advertising id, ad data, operating system, web browser, operator, IMSI, connection information and much more you can see in the image below. 
So moral is they take data from all the users and whenever a call came to our phone they only visible the name of a number which is collected from users and that it, they do nothing for the user.
How Truecaller earn?
So true caller earn from four different methods.
Advertisements: They show advertisements on their website and app. Whenever a call came there is a box on their advertisement is visible and also on their app.

- True caller for business: Suppose you block companies number they send you offers but you don't like such thing. So now the companies owner paid the owner of truecaller to unblock their number to start marketing.

How to use the feature of truecaller without downloading the app
If you want to use the feature of truecaller so you want to make a fresh account of Gmail in which there is no data of you and your contacts. Simply sign in with a fresh account and put the number of user and get the name of the user. But remember if you install the app they take all access and sync your data to their servers.
