Well, it seems a decent open source password manager is actually quite a rare thing to find.
After spending several hours trawling through links, it seems I'm no closer to finding a decent open source password management solution. Many of these products claim to be open source but turn out to be proprietary, some of them have horribly dodgy looking websites, and the few that actually are open source need to be compiled before use.
So, after all this madness, I've decided to give KeePassX another go. Last time I had trouble with the keyfile (read about it here: https://steemit.com/technology/@chasmic-cosm/exploring-password-managers-part-1-keepassx), so I decided to secure this second database with a password only. Thankfully, it seemed to work fine this time.
I'm going to experiment with the cross platform capabilities but I think this is the most promising solution so far.
I
m using KeePass on android, ubuntu and windows more than 2 years, all basic features works fine. It

I'm also running Ubuntu, Windows, and Android, so that's great feedback to get! Thanks.
