The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to add yet another feather to its cap!

After almost 150 missions and 3 decades of space faring, ISRO embraces private sector to outsource full navigation satellite manufacture. Privatization - a growing consensus!

Crossing a new threshold, for the first time in India, it is introducing a private sector industry to make a full, multi-crore, heavy-duty satellite.

Having been unable to keep pace with satellite fabrication, the ISRO has now roped in the private industry to bridge the gap.

A consortium led by Alpha Design Technologies, Bengaluru is tasked to make two full satellites for India’s navigation system.

A team of 70 engineers is working hard to make a flight ready satellite in the next 6 months.

This move also shows ISRO’s interest in supporting private companies in its mission of creating a robust space industry.

By supporting the private industry to learn the processes of making satellites, India hopes to create a robust space industry in the private sector.

In the past the ISRO has designed and made a satellite for the Europeans and this new and bold move could in times pave the way for India being a global hub for the space sector.

India's first private moon mission in Teamindus, a private aerospace startup company is planning to send a spacecraft to the moon aboard an Indian space research organisation rocket on December.

It will be India's first private moon mission to be launched. It will be launched on-board of ISRO's workhorse polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) Teamindus, a Bengaluru based private aerospace company, has said it will send a spacecraft to the moon!
