LIQUID COOLING SYSTEMS OF SMARTPHONES

Hi Steemians

Today I am Explaining about the Liquid Cooling System in smart phones. For sure the liquid cooling system has made a buzz after the release of the Xiaomi POCO F1 phone. But I have to tell you that this technology is not a new one and has been introduced in Nokia Lumia 959 XL, Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G6, Samsung Note 8, Note 9, Xiaomi’s Black Shark or the Asus ROG Phone. All these phones have used this technology. But the common question arises that, if we introduce a liquid in to the phone, won’t that damage the inner components of the phone? What is the necessity of using the Liquid Cooling Technology in today’s Smartphones?

We have seen in big gaming PC’s we have these liquid cooling tubes in which there are liquid flowing with different kind of lights. These liquid cooling channels cool the gaming PC’s. But why is this technology needed in smartphones? Answer for this is the latest smartphones comprise of the latest processors which are much powerful, but the problem is that these components are very tiny and compact & the smartphone contains many such chips on its main board. And these components when work on their full potential, they become hot and in smartphones there will be no space to dissipate their heat, there will be instructions to the processor that it can withstand certain temperature over which tampers their performance slowly which is called thermal throttling. For example if you are playing a game on your smartphone from a long long time, after certain time limit, your phone will give up, after which the performance of your smartphone will be affected. And they consume more power from the battery as they strive to give you the optimum performance and they fail finally. So the performance of the battery will also be affected. On the whole the smartphone will become hot and will also becomes gradually slow in its performance. And consumes lot of power resulting in less battery backup. We don’t like our phones getting hot and we hate them when they become slow.

So the concept of liquid cooling comes in to part. The concept is to make the components cool and won’t let the processor attain its tolerance heat level, then the processor can deliver its stable performance and consume less power from the battery. A thin hallow copper tube is used which will be not more than 1mm, in which the liquid will be filled and this liquid will drop down the heat of the processor and the liquid gets evaporated and this evaporated gas will reach certain position where it again takes the form of the liquid which again flows towards the processor and the cycle continues.

The efficiency of this liquid cooling system depends on the thickness and the wideness of the copper tube used with the system, the amount of liquid present in it, the surface area of this copper tube are some of the factors which defines the performance of the liquid cooling system. In fact as an example we can consider that Samsung had its liquid cooling system in Samsung Note 8. Then this was used in the Samsung Note 9 which was claimed by Samsung that the cooling system in Note 9 is more efficient than the system used in Note 8.

For now till date, the cheapest phone with this liquid cooling system is the Xiaomi’s POCO F1 so that it can reduce the power consumption, the processor will deliver its outmost performance, and you won’t witness the heat on the pack panel of the smartphone.

As the Liquid Cooling System was earlier meant to be in PC’s now this system has been introduced in smartphones. They can’t use all the Tubes, sensors and radiators as used in the PCs, but the job is being efficiently done by the Thinnest Copper tube used in the smartphone.

Hope the above content makes you clear with the liquid cooling systems in the smartphones, Please Upvote and Resteem to spread this information. Also leave your comments for any clarifications

Thanks for writing about this.
You have explained it really well.
But I'm not sure that I have understood everything just because of lack of my understanding about science.
Good work....

The summary is that the new smartphones are using a technology to improve their performance and battery life.

That's great initiative..

Is it possible????

Are you confused about something, this is the technology which is already getting used in smart phones
