Sony extends its portfolio of Solid State Drives (SSDs) with the SL-E range. The new model is small enough to fit into the pocket, but offers capacities of up to 960GB and high transfer speeds.

Designed to meet the needs of professionals such as architects, engineers and craftsmen, the device is comparable to a bank card and connects to the PC using the USB-C (3.1 Gen 2) interface. The SSD is also equipped with a standard USB-A port, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices, including Mac and Windows PCs as well as Android smartphones and tablets.

The Sony SL-E SSDs achieve transfer speeds of up to 540 MB / s (reading) and 520 MB / s (write) that are suitable for fast backup, image verification and retouching. SL-E also incorporates ENC DataVault Lite software that provides full security for files.

Prices start from 150€ for the 240GB model, 250€ for the 480GB version and can reach 500€ for top versions, with 960GB of storage capacity. Sony SL-E SSDs are available in stores starting in May 2018.
