WannaCry wreaked havoc on nearly a billion computers in 2017 and recent research says that it hasn't been dealt with completely. While the ransomware still persists on major of the attacked systems, the good news is that it has reduced in intensity and major anti-viruses have been patched to disarm the attack.
Salim Neino, CEO of Business Intelligence firm Kryptos Logic, warns that unpatched and outdated machines are still at risk. These computers can be attacked even after the ransomware has remained dormant on their machines. He, thus, suggests users and especially businesses to secure their machines by using latest anti-ransomware apps.
Security firm, Symantec, echoes Neino's views and recommends enterprises to patch their systems with updated software.
