How to scan files for viruses and Melware befor installing them to your Windows operating system with Linux

We all know that in to days time the Internet is a mine field for viruses and Melware trying to infect your computer. A lot of the time you can get a infection just by clicking on a link on the net. So I have decided to do a tutorial that will keep your Windows operating system safe by never even having the nasty file touch your Windows OS by using Linux. The first thing your going to want to do is install a program called ClamTk. Click Ctrl+Alt+T this will pull up the command line interface.

After it is done installing go to the top left where there is an Ubuntu insignia.

Click ClamTk then you should see this window pop up.

First thing your going to want to do is click update to be sure ClamTk has the latest signatures for Melware and viruses and yes it does have Windows signatures. That is its main purpose your not very likely to come across a Linux infection out in the wild.
Now that your software is fully up to date click scan directory or file and find the correct path that you have the file in that you want to scan most likely Downloads in less you have moved it.

After you pick the directory you wish to scan you should see this window pop up.

hopefully ClamTk finds no viruses and your all done. I will be doing more Linux tutorials so if you liked this follow me for more to come. I chose to do this one first because I found it very important for the every day Windows user with concerns about getting infections.

May peace be with you all!
