The Microsoft Office icons evolve to reflect the simplicity and harmony of the apps they represent. New but familiar, cross-device, and designed to better represent the way of working more connected and collaborative with which we work today.
So Microsoft sees the new graphic look of the icons of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Skype, Teams, Yammer, Outlook and OneDrive, which are for the first time retouched since 2013.
There is more consistency, more visibility for the app logo, and at the same time a schematic and congruent representation of the content itself. The only exception is perhaps the icon of OneDrive, a bit 'out of the chorus because not accompanied by any letter, which perhaps would have created confusion with Outlook, but that still makes it different from the others. Judge them too, after having looked at the contents below; the rollout will start in the coming months, both on mobile and on the web.
