Boeing, a US-based aircraft maker, unveiled the unmanned electrified New Airplane (CAV) prototype on Wednesday. It will be used by the company's automated technology test, the company said.
In less than three months, the design and construction of this CAV has been done, Boeing said. The organization says it is run in an environmentally friendly electric system. The aircraft can carry up to five hundred pounds, the manufacturer said.
Steve Nordland, Boeing HorizonX, Boeing, who works to make this CAV, said, "Our new CAV prototype ... highlights new possibilities for automobile goods and other transport."
Considering the use of fossil fuel, and low cost, Boeing introduced the new aircrafts in the competition of advanced battery technology and electric motor making.
Boeing's rival French firm Airbus, British automobile maker Rolls-Royce and German technology firm Siemens have created a hybrid electric engine.
