Everyone knows its always a hassel to remember your or someone elses WIFI passwords and even more annoying if its too long that you can't be arsed to write it (My parents have like 40 digits in theirs)!

"Was it a big L or a small one in the password?" "I can't remember, try one" 20 minutes later you've managed to come in into a damn technology that pretty much hasnt changed much since the beginning of time, there must be a easier way?

Apple did manage to change that! With the new feature that comes in the new iOS 11. The feature is called "WI-FI Sharing" and allows people that see the WIFI to ask for a invite into the network without having to type in the password for it, pretty much like a routers WPS feature does today. To enable this feature there is a button in the WIFI settings that's called "Ask to join networks".

Apple havent announced any release date yet, but the update should come to iPods and iPads sometime this fall.

Will this work with any router? If so that's awesome! I'm hoping it works on a wide range because if so... Well this would be awesome and handy!

It will, since as long as the phone that is not connected is in the range of the WI-FI signal, it can ask for entrance to that very network. Only requirements is that the one phone that already is connected to it has the function to recieve requests in the settings active on his/hers phone to be able to recieve the message of entrance to the network.

This will be awesome then, can't wait for it to be implemented on more devices too!
