THE STAIR CLIMBING WHEELCHAIR, A POTENTIAL GAME CHANGER.

Actually, no one knows where and when the first wheel chair was invented and who invented it. The history of the invention is rather shrouded in uncertainty. But there were early records of wheeled transportation device found on a stone carving in China. There were later different versions of wheel chairs as technology advanced. Which of course, has made life easier for the disabled.

Just recently, a mind-boggling invention was unveiled. Although this is still a demonstration prototype and is well under development, it is already a reality. Named Scalevo, the prototype version of the chair was created by five master students from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and Zurich University of the Arts.

This exceptional wheel chair can climb stairs easily. This is made possible by the rubber tracks below the wheels and it designed in such a way that would make it overcome all obstacles. Every thing about it is just perfect.

It can be controlled with a Joystick or simply by shifting the body weight. The chair balanced chair gives room for easy maneuvering and overcoming obstacles. Climbing stairs with the wheel has always been a problem but with this, less worry is needed as it ensures safe and smooth transition up and down the stairs.

The track can be lowered down to the ground for traction on slippery surfaces such as snow or loose gravel.

It can even be elevated to a higher level that would be useful when you need to pick up that book on a shelf or see things from a higher ground. This is also made possible by the tracks!
