How Close Are We To Achieving A True Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)? [Will machines become self-aware?]

I believe ASI will be a game changer to the human race. One of the things that makes us humans other than machines are our "emotions". As much as emotion has been a blessing to humanity, it has also been a problem - emotion can interfere with logical decision making. Not a lot of people can set aside their emotions to make a logical well informed decision but artificial intelligence doesn't have this problem and because of this advantage, many businesses in the US and across the globe are now embracing the use of computers in their decision making process. A world where ASI is actualized is beyond imagination because its capabilities will be endless.

Sure; I quite agree with you - emotion is one of the things that makes us human; but in the real sense; is it our absolute prerogative to be emotional?

Awesome enough; the ASI would not only hinge around just the cognitive domain of intelligence, but also the efferent domain; of which "emotion" could be simulated too.

In my opinion; there is almost no limit to the advancement of tech (particularly AI), the only thing we need to do is to figure out ways to make them subject to us. After all, technology is meant to assist humankind; not replacing nor conflicting with us.

Thanks for coming around

I was gonna say, I personally feel that our emotion is part of what makes us intelligent, and would be one of the things that would be simulated by pure AI. Glad to hear your response.
