Fastest growing method of Advertising? - DIGITAL MEDIA!

Introduction


Every time I tell someone that I work in the Digital Media field, they have no idea what I am talking about. I normally follow that statement with something along the lines of "I put ads on websites, real life-changing stuff ya know?". Perhaps you already know what Digital Media but if not you will hopefully have a solid idea of what it is by the time you finish reading this post.

Why should I listen to you? Are you even credible?


I hopped right into the Digital Media industry right out of College (Degree in Psychology; No one ACTUALLY gets a job in the major field..... right?) and have been at the same company named MediaCrossing for 2.5 years now. I was a complete noob when I started as an intern but as I watched people come and go I began to pick up the skills that made me an actual asset to the company and they eventually offered me full-time where I have thrived as a Campaign Coordinator who is someone who monitors the spend and delivery of these campaigns on a Day-To-Day basis (and Digital Media doesn't sleep).

What is Digital Media?

Digital Media is more than just putting Ads and Promos on an individual's webpage, but is defined as digitized content that can be transferred through the internet, computer networks, and various electronic devices. This includes websites, video (Youtube), and audio (Pandora), as well as video games and social media (Instagram, Twitter). This industry goes into much more detail but it would take longer than one Steemit post to explain everything you should know about Digital or the AdTech industry.

Last year, more than 33% of advertising budget was moved into Digital Media which marked the highest percentage of growth in one year TO DATE! This resulted in a decrease in ad spend for Radio and Print and really opened eyes for Brands who were trying to adjust to the new technologically diverse marketing world.
