Founder of Apple Computer and Steve "Woz" Wozniak, the inventor of the Apple II computer, the last start explained Woz U. The Woz-U venture enables those who want to improve themselves in the field of technology to take courses online.
The initiative is like a "digital institute" to ensure that people acquire the skills of computer science to fill the gaps between high-paying technology roles. Wozniak said that Wozi was created to make the technology less scary.
"People are generally afraid of choosing a technology-based career because they think they can not do it, I know what they can do and I want to show them how to do it, our goal is to educate and train employable digital skills for many years without people entering." said.
Many economists predict that robotics and artificial intelligence will replace much of the American workforce, especially those with low skill needs. Without proper training, according to these predictions, millions of employees can be excluded from a job.
Wozi was launched to provide people with relevant skills as an insurance policy. When technology becomes a dominant presence in the US economy, America's technology sector will need more people to fill new roles. According to Wozniak, there is a way to do this without separating thousands of college loans.
No need to pay tons of money to make a career in technology
Wozi is the first coding school designed to distinguish experienced engineers from novice technicians. For example, Udacity was founded in 2012 and has over 1.5 million users. There are dozens more bootcamps around the world with a similar mission.
Wozu wants to separate himself through various divisions. The first is the collection of online classes where people can register to learn the basics of computer support and software developers. Over time, the curriculum will expand to include data scientists and cyber security experts. Wozi also focuses on the careers of students through applying their CVs, course coding tests and creating portfolios.
In addition, Wozi aims to train high school (K-12) students as well. Students are aiming to develop outstanding technology skills through an accelerated program. An accelerator program will be set up to "develop the skill of elite technology". Companies will work to recruit and train new talent through Wozu programs.
In the coming years, Wozi aims to build 30 physical environments in different parts of the US to spread the digital institute to the physical world. So Woz-U wants to implement the 'click-to-brick' model in e-commerce on the training side.
