Is Amazon Too Big? Monopolies and the Price of Convenience.

Great post. I think their size has hurt them in some ways, but they don't care. They rely on 3rd party sellers that seem to fail to meet delivery deadlines more frequently, even with "Prime" shipping. My last 2 orders have missed the delivery dates. The 1st time, Amazon gave me a free month of Prime. 2nd time they offered it again, I said no. Then they offered $5. I accepted, but send a lengthy email about their failing service. They refunded my entire order amount of $40. That made me feel a little better. :)

Interesting - are you in the US - I suspect it is more of a problem there. In the UK because we are so small we get next day delivery normally and I haven't really had those kind of issues except when I have used sellers on the marketplace (who tend to ship more slowly).

Yes, I'm in the US. Prime 2 day shipping used to mean literally 2 days. It's rarely 2 days these days. I wouldn't care much if they delivered when they say it will be delivered.
