Hypersonic speeds are those more than Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound).
In there’s one word that keeps military planners from sleeping at night, it's "hypersonic." The ability to fly at more than five times the speed of sound holds the guarantee of getting to the antipodes in less time than it takes to drive across town.
The rapid moving weapons are another class of danger since they are being intended to dodge missile defense systems, and would give countries less time to react to assaults.
