Learning media is one tool that helps students to learn, whether inside or outside the classroom. Currently, the use of media technology is the primary choice for teachers to apply in the classroom while teaching. Along with technological improvements, video becomes one of the most popular learning media today. many researchers suggest using video in learning because the video provides a learning model of the audio and visual aspects.

One of the benefits of using video as a learning medium is it can save learning time. It can also increase students' motivation and interest while studying. But in practice, there are some elements that teachers need to pay attention to in choosing effective videos for learning.

Accoarding to Brame (2015), an effective educational video include these three elements; they are Cognitive load, students engaged and promote active learning (Brame).

1. Cognitive load
The cognitive aspect in video selection refers to the student's knowledge. it is closely related to the students' memory both audio and visual. Therefore, in the selection of the video then the teacher must choose a video that fits the cognitive level of the students and the video does not make students confused either in the form of images or in the form of audio. Another aspect that teachers need to pay attention to is in the video there is no weird or confusing symbol of the student, the duration is not too long so it makes students bored and lost concentration, and the content in the video like music does not dominate the main view.

2. Promote active learning
One of the purposes of using video in learning is for students to be more active during learning. Then a video used in the class must be pro-active. Therefore it takes some tools or tips for students to be active during learning to use video. This can be done by teachers by designing an active learning model when using video in learning. One technique is to integrate questions into the video so that students can answer some questions in the video. To trim questions into videos the teacher can us several apps. One of the online apps that provides trimming features is EDPUZZLE.

In the video, we can see that the teacher can insert questions into the video. So that it can promote active learning by asking students to answer the questions while watching the video

3. Student engagement
One other important element in the use of video is to encourage students to engage in the learning process. The video used must have several criteria that can make the learning process become effective to achieve the learning objectives. Then the video criteria is not too long (see table below) to keep students concentration, if the duration is to long their concentration will be biased. The use of language in the video should also be conversational language so that students do not get bored and to more easily understand the content in the video. The last criterion is the narrator in the video should be enthusiastic when
speaking so that students are interested while watching the video.
