I don't know why - but this spot has become a very cliché spot in New York City to shoot. I can't even guess how many times I've seen images taken from this very spot (see below).
But a few summers ago I decided to shoot it from a different angle. The hardest thing to do as a photographer is to come up with a different perspective from locations that has been shot to death.
So here's an angle you may not have seen. 👀
Location | Brooklyn, NYC |
---|---|
Year | 2016 |
Camera | Canon 5d Mark iii |
Lens | 24-105mm f4 |
Shutter Speed | 1/60s |
Aperture | f22 |
ISO | 100 |
Here's the cliché shot:

Good work but yeah, Pre-2K photos of the entire East River Brooklyn side trump any I've seen after it.
Peace

True that! But you wouldn't believe what it looks like by the espenadle! There's huge basketball courts, baseball fields, a ferry, giant parks and more.

Yeah I'm sure I wouldn't believe it.
The memory of the whole area is still intact. Imagining it as the commercial spot that it looks like, its completely imagining a whole another place.
