I'm from Romania so i was cheering for Simona Halep, but i have to admit that Ostapenko deserved the victory. She played fearless, hitting every ball with an incredible explosion and always searching for the lines. This is the reason why she had so many unforced errors 54 WOW, but she had just as many winners, while Halep had only 10 unforced errors and 8 winners.
I think today courage won, the player who played aggressively won. She was not afraid and she was rewarded with the Roland Garros title. That must feel incredible at just 20 years old.
Tennis is the most beautiful sport for me because it allows these spectacular comebacks like Simona did in the semifinals.
