he wanted to make a faucet to give steem dollars to new people.
a small whale @liondani and maybe some others happen to see that and thought that he want to game the system. So they downvoted him. Now after talking with each other we all learned, that yes protecting steemid is good, but yes, still we should be careful what to downvote and first try to talk with the people (if it is not absolute obvious spam).
Just undoing downvotes alone seems not to help...
Now we try to figure out how to restore @miketr reputation :)
