Your Mighty Hero
I wonder how many Jews were there that day listening as Isaiah prophesied these beautiful words. By the time he got to calling the Lord. 'The mighty God,' it should have shaken them up. 'The mighty God' is one of those beautiful names of God.
When you are talking about 'The mighty God' you are not talking about might in terms of size, but that it overpowers the strong.
When structural engineers want to put up stanchions for a building, they don't just pick any metal pole and conclude it's very strong merely by its weight or the sound it makes. They have a way of calculating the strength of the material to know whether it can support the weight they want to put on it. Now, let's imagine a guy came along and said he could bend that metal pillar with his bare hands, the structural engineer would be quick to tell him, "NO, you can't. We have calculated the strength of that pole and you just can't bend it!"
Imagine the guy finally bend it with his bare hands. What he has demonstrated is superior strength over that material's strength. Then we can say, "Wow, that guy is mighty!" because of the way he demonstrates superior strength.
Anyone who's like that is seen as a champion; you will always want to put him in front because with his bare hands he can take off a door with its hinges.
Samson did that at one time, not only did he pull out an entire city gate, he also place it on his shoulder and carried it far away from town to the top of a hill! That's might!

Now Isaiah talks about the mighty God. In Hebrew He is called "EL-GIBBOR," meaning 'the Lord our Hero.' He has become your God and Hero. He is your super God and He demonstrates His might over the strong.
When anyone thinks he can mess with you, El-Gibbor, shows up against them.
Put Him in front of you today, stay right behind Him and watch Him paralyze your enemies when they come up against you as flood. He is your mighty Hero, Hallelujah!
Isaiah 9:6 talk about, "........... His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God....."
