Yeah it's test time said no one normal ever testing may not be a ton of fun but it is important to get a few of them the way testing on up work is just further proof that you are capable of getting Project X. Done now it's far from a perfect system because if people can easily cheat they generally do and the answers to many of the up work tests are available on a variety of websites across the Web In fact I once hired a programmer who got one hundred percent on an English competency test and turns out he could not communicate at all in English so just because somebody has a perfect test score doesn't necessarily mean they are qualified in that area so it's not a perfect system and whether you cheat or not is entirely up to you but I do recommend that you do a few of these tests. So I've logged into my profile and click on find work. And that will bring up the find work bar underneath and profile is one of the options so I'm going to select that and then I'll scroll down passport folio pass certifications to tests and I'll select the link take more tests I would recommend at least doing the basic tests on up work and you can see which ones are most common right over here see as this test taken so right now over one million people have taken the US English basic skills test so I'd recommend a least taking out one there's an English spelling test and office skills test a Windows X P test and the list goes on and on and on. And after you've done the basics I would recommend taking tests that are related to your skill set so for that let's scroll up and go to our category filter and let's pretend for a moment that you are in web development. Tools like that. And sure enough all of the relevant tests to web development come up and are listed right there. Now the question is are tests actually an essential part of your profile Well that depends tests are on up work to answer questions that may be on potential clients minds like can this guy or gal communicate in English effectively or does he or she actually have the ability to build this app Now once you've established a great reputation test probably won't mean that much but when you first start out you don't have a reputation good or bad so you want to take as many relevant tests as possible and at least take the basics at a minimum up work as freelancers across the globe and even if your profile says that you are located in North America your potential clients will want to know that you can communicate in English most times affectively of course your video in your overview are a big part of that but this just helps bolster their confidence in you now some people like to do everything right away and will spend a day or two or three taking every relevant test they can find for the rest of us I would recommend taking one every few days even after your profiles been approved I friended a get pretty bored after taking just one test and one more thing after you complete a test you can choose whether or not to show it on your profile so if you didn't do as well as you had hoped on a test you could always hide that one and take it again at a later date for a better score most tests will not allow you to retake them immediately so you'll have to wait a few days to retake them so that's it on testing so now we are almost done with your profile and there's just a few things that we need to clean up and finish before we can submit it for you and that's the topic the or next lesson.
