34 AS
34 AS is the Metrobus line that people living in Istanbul use daily to start and finish their office days between two sides of the city.
It's hard to fit in and to keep yourself in morph.
Starting a few months ago, we gathered Studio Sloth to focus on what we want to create apart from our daily job routines. This is our first game idea where you can play Tetris with a little twist. Instead of boring colored boxes, we introduced some humor by referring to the crowd we experience daily as most of us use the public transportation in the busy hours of Istanbul.
Then we started working on a prototype. Our beloved Ece Cevik designed the characters and the layout of the game. We referred to this excellent tutorial by Meth Meth Method
with Liva and started implementing the drawing logic for removing complete rows. What we did was to separate each block into pieces. Then the game engine transforms or removes any part as necessary.
The points you get will reward you with a trophy. We added the logic to slowly speed up, so you need to be careful. We also would like to introduce some enhancements in our spare times:
- Vertical motion feedback on row completion, like a tiny earthquake
- Sounds
- Maybe a few more characters and trophies
- Basic gesture support for mobile devices
- Make game component reusable/embeddable - why not :)
