History
Tea cultivation started in 1840 in this country. Not in Sylhet, at the club premises of Chittagong. Production started in Sylhet in 1854. And in Panchagarh in 1998, about 150 years later. He started tea cultivation in organic method by buying some land in Tentulia. In this area, Kazi Tea Estate is the pioneer in tea cultivation. Later, many organizations like Tentulia Tea Corporation Limited, Salalal Tea Estate, started tea cultivation here. According to Panchagarh district council, currently, tea cultivation is being done in 2255.55 acres of land in more than 200 gardens. In 2009, 6,56,024 kg of MED made from Panchagarh.
