Thailand was actually my first travel abroad and I really loved it. I still remember the first time when I walked out of Suvarnabhumi Airport building and was amazed at seeing several levels of highways (after living in a small city my whole life) and feeling a crush of hot and humid air.
Since that time I spent about 1.5 years in Thailand in and out and here's top 5 things I like the most about it:
1. Beaches
I think Thailand has some of the best beaches. Of course, when I say that I mostly think about not overcrowded islands. So far my favourite one is Koh Chang, though there's still a lot of places that I haven't visited, maybe there's something even better out there!
2. People's attitude towards life
I think it's great that they think that it's really important to enjoy what you do in your life, sometimes I feel that I force myself to do things that I really don't like and wish to be more like thai people =)
Also I love that it's unacceptable to start shouting in an argument, as I am a quiet person myself.
And of course it's simply awesome that people in general are friendly and try to help when they can.
3. Oh my god, all those fruits!
So many great sweet fruits - I ate watermelons and pineapples every day
4. It's convenient
Everything from buying tickets to finding some food in the middle of night is pretty easy especially compared to some less developed asian countries.
5. It’s cheap
It's cheap if you want it to be cheap, of course (meaning cheap hotels and cheap street food). And shopping is pretty good too, especially in Bangkok.

Of course, there's more than these 5 things to like, and I'm going to post more photos from Thailand in the next posts ;)

I've been living here for most of the last 3 years. I agree with everything you say. With love from Chiang Mai. Sawatdee krup!

Loved Thailand - we rented a car from Bangkok airport to drive down to Phuket absolutely wonderful adventures were had on the way :) I didn't have skills with cameras back then so the photos are of extremely poor quality - yours are fantastic! Just how I remember the place :D

That's a pity it was an adventure to say the least: I remember trying countless varieties of Thai energy drinks along the way with my wife. I never experienced the public transport in Thailand but I found the trains in Vietnam to be a nightmare!
Are you living in South East Asia? I was teaching in Vietnam for awhile before I came back to Australia for my masters and found it a fun experience :)
