Images Of Samui Island - Day 13 - Late Afternoon on the Virgin Coast

in thailand •  4 years ago

Each day for the next 30 days, I will bring to you a new picture of this beautiful tropical island. Given the current international flight ban into Thailand, the island is almost devoid of people except for a few locals, some long-term expats and Bangkok escapees.

I figured what better time to share with you some images that I take around the island along with a short description of the place in the photo

THE VIRGIN COAST - There is a long strip of coastline on the west of the island between Lipa Noi and Taling Nam which will remind you of the Samui island of the past. Nothing but tall, swaying coconut trees and perfect empty beaches. This area of the island is affectionately called the Virgin Coast and is practically undeveloped apart from a few local Thai businesses who have been there forever. There is a little restaurant I like here which makes great Thai seafood dishes and you can sit with the sand beneath your toes and enjoy the day end with a perfect sunset over the Gulf of Thailand.
