In case you are not aware of the background story here, in 2012 the heir to the Red Bull billions drunkenly crashed his Ferrari into a police officer after a night of drinking and doing coke, killed the police officer, and then fled the scene. He is yet to even face trial for this and as is the usual in Thailand, the rich literally get away with killing someone and there are no repercussions.

The fact the 20 something kid nicknamed "Boss" was able to get away with this and nearly 10 years later is yet to face any real charged, it wasn't very surprising to anyone that lived here that the police and the courts would help cover for him and his family, presumably for under-the-table payoffs.
It was only because of the public outcry that the international media took notice of it at all because local news outlets were either not permitted to cover the incident in great detail, or were also paid off to not do so.
Here we are, 9 years later and a recording has emerged of an ex-police chief ordering his underlings to alter paperwork in the charges that were (probably reluctantly) filed against Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya.
The ex chief is on a recording telling his underlings to change the paperwork so that the speed he was traveling would be reported at 76 km / hour instead of 177 km / hour. This change of speed is what resulted in the courts dropping the charges of reckless driving involving death - a charge that usually has some sort of prison time associated with it.

The ex police chief is the current president of the Thailand Football Association and is extremely well connected. I would be very surprised if anything happens to him at all even though he is caught red-handed here.
The problem that Thailand is going to face now is that the police force, who are the guilty party in this particular situation is also the same group that is going to be investigating these allegations against the ex-police chief. I always find it funny when the guilty party, especially in a place like Thailand where everyone knows the police are corrupt as can be, would be charged with investigating themselves.
For you and I and just about anyone else on the planet, crashing their car into anyone and especially a cop and then killing them in the process then fleeing the scene would be an open and shut case that lands us in jail. For one of the richest families in Thailand though, they found holes in the legal system and paid off people and the next thing we know "Boss" wasn't even in Thailand anymore so that he could avoid prosecution even if they DID decide to press serious charges... which of course they didn't.

Instead, he boarded his private jet and fled to Singapore and then to many other places around the world and wasn't even trying to hide. He was even posting his adventures on social media. This guy and his family truly believe they are untouchable and can do whatever they want with impunity.
I remain pessimistic about anything at all coming from this new inquiry unless the world media focuses on it because if there is one thing that Thailand doesn't like the world knowing, it is that their entire police force is corrupt as hell. This certainly will not have the ending that it should have unless other countries shine a light on it.
If you are rich in Thailand, you can do whatever you want and not even get in trouble for it... including ending the life of another person. In the meantime I encourage everyone to not drink Red Bull or have anything to do with that company. There is a boycott of sorts here in Thailand but Thailand is a small place.

I think these guys are too rich to prosecute. Before we get on a high horse though, let's think about how the rich get away with things like this in our own countries. Sure they pick a fall guy like Epstein every now and then but how many others get away with it?
