The Top 10 Business Trends That Will Drive Success In 2018

Pretty insightful write-up with a lot of detail. I can only jump around to comment on some of the things that I agree with and have also been saying for some time. The online collaboration era is still in its infancy. People are learning in mass by way of social media. The children of today such as my 8th and 9th grade sons get issued Chromebooks by their average school.

Their homework also features places that are basically what we have been using as "forums" for years where they can ask questions of their classmates and post their homework and such for public viewing. I think a lot of that will translate more and more into business.

I had been in corporate for 23 years before I got caught in a mass layoff. The collaboration going on in shared documents on Google Docs and instant message windows is still only the beginning. I think there will be so much more collaboration going on that it will only improve the workforce. It will highlight those that are contributors of value and detect those who aren't contributing because it will simply be documented as poorly quality or lack of quantity or quality. The slackers will get identified a lot easier.

This means that the need for technology and networking will only increase and the need for higher education will be more of an asset than it already is. The early exposure to things like Chromebooks in the classrooms will give children like mine such an edge in the workforce many years from now when people like myself, who are age 47 now, will be competing with them in 10 years for mid level positions.

I have an MBA and lots of computer skills but I can certainly say that lots of people I know do not have any secondary education and simply want to ignore computers (except for their phones). They will be in for a rude awakening when the next generation comes up the ranks and puts those people into early retirement or the layoff list.

I could go on and on. I like your commentary. I am going to read your blog and start following you. You provoked my brain to the point where I should be writing a similarly structure posting on a different topic. :)
